What happens when family commitments change? Maybe now is finally a time when one can look at ‘What do I want now?’ 'How do I want to live my life heading into retirement?’ ‘Who am I when I am not a family member, colleague, caregiver, companion, or friend?’
New Canadians, internationals, and areas of intercultural dynamics
Living in a different culture means learning to adapt. It is normal for values to be different, whether in a positive way, or in a challenging way. Canada is a mosaic which means within a work environment, friendship group, or family there are different values co-existing. How to look beyond the surface, trying to understand one’s own values, and navigating different values systems can be explored.
Questions about the ‘new normal’ with rapid changes in many spaces
Technology, climate, and socio-economic positions appear to be in flux daily. The status quo of what is normal is no longer moving within a generation. What is really going on? Learning how to ask questions and dig for answers, using logic as a tool, can provide a framework.
Satisfaction and/or happiness is an interesting component in both individual sessions and workshops. How do you define what makes you satisfied and what makes you happy? People, unassumingly, have different definitions for each term. When it comes to decision-making, a lack of precision creates confusion, at a fundamental level. Working through thinking patterns, and assumptions, can often provide clarity leading to security. Choices become active rather than a reaction to a particular situation.
