Kimberley Tomasson is an ethicist with a MA in philosophy from the University of Victoria and a MSc in Arts & NGO Management from EDHEC Business School. She regularly developed and facilitated workshops in ethical analysis while working for different organisations such as the Public Health Agency of Canada, the University of Victoria, and the University of British Columbia.

Her approach with private clients and organisations is collaborative with an emphasis on using logic as a helpful tool. Learning critical thinking skills, considering a situation beyond its first appearance, and looking for fallacies has a wider application beyond exploring values.

Academically, she has written "Ethical Consistency, the Canada Health Act, and Resource Allocation: Arguments for a Rights-based Approach to Decision-making." and "What are the Costs of Human Rights? How do NGOs Balance Competing Claims?". Kimberley took a foundational approach to ethical analysis and applied it to different waves of digital technology starting from a poster presentation at MEDINFO World Congress of Medical Informatics examining physician-based websites, to conference presentations about e-health data, and how GDPR legislation could redefine harm. She is now turning towards AI with the same approach.

Kimberley lived overseas for over a decade experiencing first-hand cross-cultural intersections of normative values in the workplace and elsewhere. She has returned home to Vancouver, Canada, and is ready to help individuals and organisations make Smart Choices - Better Decisions™ through one-on-one sessions, workshops, and consulting.
